Lordsburg, NM – February 5, 2026 – Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) is proud to announce an expanded partnership with Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) to bring additional specialty care services to Hidalgo County.

This collaboration builds on an initiative launched in 2023, when HMS CEO Dan Otero invited GRMC’s administration to provide specialty medical services in Hidalgo County—an invitation GRMC accepted, with services beginning that same year. The first specialty service offered under this partnership was GRMC Cardiology, which has since served as a foundation for expanded care.

With the transition of leadership at GRMC, HMS extended the invitation to broaden specialty offerings to CEO Rob Whitaker, who has continued the commitment to improving access to care for rural communities.

As part of this next phase of expansion, the following specialty services will soon be available at the HMS Lordsburg Main Clinic:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedics
• Podiatry
• Urology
