Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) proudly celebrated National Health Center Week with a series of events honoring patients, staff, and Hidalgo and our community, including open houses at clinics across Grant and Hidalgo Counties.

On Wednesday, August 6, each participating HMS clinic welcomed patients and community members for refreshments, free blood pressure checks, HMS promotional items, and information on available services. The open houses provided an opportunity for residents to connect with HMS providers and staff and learn more about the medical, dental, behavioral health, and family support services offered by HMS.

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as HMS marked 30 years of service to southwest New Mexico. “National Health Center Week is a time to recognize the hard work of our staff, the trust of our patients, and the partnerships that make our mission possible,” said Dr. Dan Otero, HMS CEO. “We are honored to have served our community for three decades and look forward to many more years of care.”

In addition to the open houses, Health Center Week featured themed dress-up days for staff, patient appreciation activities, and opportunities to highlight the essential role of community health centers nationwide.
