Issac Saucedo is a family practice clinician who has a special interest in rural and preventative medicine. Isaac was born and raised in Silver City, and attended Western New Mexico University. He later graduated from Evangel University, Missouri, and went on to attend Arizona School of Health Services. Isaac Saucedo is certified with the National Commission on Certifications of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA). He is a fellow of the New Mexico Academy of Physician Assistants (NMAPA) and a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Cyndi began nursing school in 2008 and has been a practicing nurse since 2011.  During that time, she has worked in general acute care, postpartum care, and for the last nine years prior to becoming an NP, worked in the Newborn nursery at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Her educational background includes an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the University of South Dakota, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and a Masters Degree of Science in Nursing from Maryville University.  She then completed the certification for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the National Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner Certification Board (PNCB).  Her specialty is pediatrics and newborn care and assessment, whereas she has cared for newborns for the last 9 years of her nursing career.  She has completed 500 hours of clinical experience in pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. Cyndi’s passion is to serve underserved populations, to promote and educate about healthy choices in order to prevent illness before it begins, and to advocate for equitable care for all patients regardless of status.  She enjoys well-child checks, where she can connect with the families of her patients and provide education about healthy lifestyles, as well as build a relationship with the patient, and watch them grow.

Dara Foster is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Dara brings extensive healthcare experience to HMS and enjoys working in a rural clinic setting. Foster provides extensive services to patients at the Cliff-Gila Community Health Center. Services provided to patients include annual exams for women, men and children, the diagnosis and treatment of acute conditions across the lifespan, management and evaluation of chronic stable conditions across the lifespan, sports exams, immunizations, and overall collaboration with providers and adjunct therapies to coordinate care for patients.

Dara completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at New Mexico State University, and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Frontier Nursing University. “As a long-time resident of southwestern New Mexico and Grant County, I love being part of HMS. Joining HMS has allowed me to provide care in my community," states Dara. Dara enjoys hiking, making soap and horseback riding.

Nikki Henry, PA-C

Nikki Henry is a board certified Physician Assistant born and raised in rural Colorado. Her undergraduate degree was in Exercise Science at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY where she lived and worked in both the exercise and medical fields as a personal trainer, ER medical scribe and clinical exercise specialist until 2016. After that, she moved to Butte, MT for several years - which ultimately drove her to focus her PA school education on rural and frontier medicine. She earned her Master of Clinical Health Sciences at University of Washington – MEDEX in Spokane, WA where she was the class Vice President and awarded the UW Barbara Gunter-Flynn Underserved Award for exceptional achievement in the care of and improved access for the medically underserved.

With her previous experience and focus on exercise and healthy living, Nikki has a passion for treating her patients with a “whole person” approach. This includes considering how treatment plans affect and are affected by current and ideal lifestyles, ensuring patients leave the office feeling educated about their conditions and treatment plan, identifying potential barriers to reaching health-related goals, providing assistance to overcome those barriers, and connecting with patients in a way that empowers them to be an active participant in their care. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, and rural healthcare gives her the ability to better connect with her patients.

Nikki relocated to Silver City to join the HMS team and has enjoyed the never-ending outdoor activities for herself and her dogs available nearby, as well as becoming a part of such a vibrant community. She enjoys hiking, fishing, woodworking, and home remodeling in her spare time.

Amy Jones is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. For over 5 years she worked in the Women, Infants, and Childrens department as a Newborn/Transition Care Nurse.

From a very young age she always knew she wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner. She has always had a passion for the underserved community and being able to provide the care that is well deserved. She received her Master of Science in Nursing at Prairie View A&M University. She strongly believes in equality and providing care for all. She loves and enjoys providing care for all ages. She has interest in providing care to pediatrics, women’s health, and primary care.

Amy enjoys crafting, decorating, event planning, traveling, and spending time with family.

Camille Keys, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated from Western New Mexico University in 2018 with an Associate's Degree in nursing, going on to further her education earning her Bachelor's of Science and subsequently her Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso. She has served in a variety of roles in her career as a registered nurse and ultimately found a love for emergency medicine, working in the Emergency Department for the last several years. Camille was born and raised in Silver City, and is excited for the opportunity to serve and support those in her hometown community. Her goal is to provide personalized, holistic care to each of her patients so that they can achieve and maintain their individual health goals. Outside of work, Camille loves spending time with her children, family and friends.

Tiffany Maxey is a physician assistant who was born in Wyoming but raised in Silver City, NM and graduated from Silver High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from New Mexico State University in las Cruces, NM as well as a minor in Biology. She then went on to receive her masters as a physician assistant from Touro Medical School in Henderson, NV where she graduated top 10 in her class.

Tiffany has returned home to her roots and her family to practice in the town that she grew up in. She enjoys the small town charm, which enables her to care for multiple generations of families and to provide continuity of care. She did specialty rotations in interventional Cardiology as well as Cardiothoracic Surgery at New Mexico Heart Institute and has a passion for cardiology. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, riding horses, hiking, and doing pretty much anything outdoors. She is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan as well.

Ken started his medical pursuit as a medic in the military. After being honorably discharged, he worked in an ER while completing prerequisites for Physician Assistant school. He graduated from the LSU Physician's Assistant program in 2004. Ken then moved to South Carolina where he practiced with a cardiology group for nearly 20 years. While practicing cardiology, he completed a master's degree in PA with a Cardiology focus. Ken met his beautiful, faithful, loving wife in South Carolina while she was visiting mutual friends. They married shortly afterward and she gave birth to their little blessing. They then moved to Arizona where they reside on a ranch desiring to raise their family in the fear and admonishing of the LORD. Ken has always been an avid fisherman, hunter, and sportsman. But, his prayer is that the gospel of Jesus is spread abroad in truth and love. Psalm 51

Megan Novikoff is a board certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University. After college, Megan traveled and then moved to Denver where her work experience sparked her interest in the medical field. She relocated to Portland, Oregon where she attended Pacific University's School of Physician Assistant Studies. After receiving her master's degree, she joined a small family practice in Oregon and developed a passion for primary care. Megan and her husband Ethan moved to New Mexico in 2015. She enjoys developing relationships with her patients to work together toward healthy lifestyles. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, camping, gardening, cooking, and reading.

Kelly Ruemmele has been a nurse for 30 years. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from UTMB in 1994 and her Master’s Degree from UTMB, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Track in 2000.

For the past 3 years, she has been working in developmental pediatrics, diagnosing children with Autism and managing ADHD, Anxiety/Depression, while continuing to work in Pediatric Urgent Care. Prior to that, she initiated pediatric primary care at the largest UTMB Regional Maternal Child Health clinic for 5 years. She strives to provide care for the underserved populations and advocates for full practice authority acting as a Texas Nurse Practitioner Legislative Ambassador for Rep Dennis Paul. She has taught in both undergraduate and graduate nursing studies at UTMB, Texas Woman’s University, and College of the Mainland. Clinical background beyond primary care, includes newborn nursery and during graduate school floated as a RN through all subspecialties at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Kelly is passionate about mental health services, received her PMHS through PCNB which required over 800 behavioral clinical hours. She is  currently participating in a REACH Fellowship, as well as the SAFETY-A Suicide Prevention Cohort. She has advocated for the “Start School Later” initiative through legislative advocacy to promote appropriate school start times to improve children’s sleep. Kelly is a proponent of vaccines and participated in the “Shot at Life” Washington DC Delegate in 2023.

Kelly is excited to return to her first love, primary pediatric care where she can continue to develop relationships with her parents and families. Teaching parents how to advocate in the school system, watching children grow and thrive is her greatest desire.

She has 3 college-aged children attending Texas A&M University, one is working on her PhD in Biochemistry and the other two, engineering.

Kelly enjoys reading, travel, and taking long walks and looks forward to spending more time outdoors in New Mexico. She also loves estate sale finds!

Dr. Joseph Santarsieri is a Chiropractic specialist. Dr. Santarsieiri graduated Cum Laude from the Virginia Military Institute in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and has been practicing as a field chiropractor since 2001. Dr. Santarsieri was privileged to work with the official group of chiropractors on the Detroit Lions NFL football team. “ I have gained clinical knowledge and experience in treating sports to civilian injuries that deal with the neuromusculoskeletal system. I strive to help individuals improve structure and function that ultimately improves the quality of their life. Better function leads to better health. I am super excited to join the HMS staff to serve and care for this community”.

Donald Stinar, M.D.

Dr. Stinar grew up in the Detroit area and received his Bachelors and medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit.

He completed a residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases.  He enjoyed the complex patients there, working in a leprosy ward, tuberculosis ward, trauma unit, intensive care unit, and prison hospital ward.

While in private practice, he established a sleep lab, and a pulmonary rehab program, and directed intensive care units in Michigan, and later in Silver City. He coordinated the first  Fundamentals of Critical Care Course offered in New Mexico, for doctors and healthcare professionals who work in intensive care.  He later helped Las Cruces become certified to offer the course. He covered the Intensive Care unit at hospitals in Albuquerque and Las Cruces when they unexpectedly lost their intensivist.

Due to the complex patients and many decisions required, he became chairman of the hospital ethics committee, and held conferences in Michigan and later in Silver City.

He enjoyed working at charity clinics and improving patient care.

Susan Staples, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Susan has worked for 19 years as a registered nurse in a variety of rural and urban settings before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017. In addition to managing addiction and related disorders, she specializes in providing immediate care for acute illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages. Due to training and a strong ER background, she is proficient in most urgent care procedures as well as addressing other time-sensitive medical needs.

Susan also sponsors a young man in a transition house in Jeremie, Haiti and is hoping to go on a medical mission trip there in the future. Her pride and joy include her amazing son who combines his biology and computer science degrees to revolutionize the medical practice. Susan also loves her teenage rescue pup, named Jasper, who adopted her in 2021 and through walks, training and play, reminds her daily how important it is to focus on the present and daily amazing moments. In Susan’s spare time, she is learning all sorts of new skills while working on a number of home improvement projects. Originally an Iowa farm kid and now lays roots down in Silver City. Silver City reminds her of her hometown in Iowa, and truly loves everyone in the Grant County community. She is very excited about joining the HMS team to better serve the community's medical needs.

Charles “Chuck” Whiting, MBA, DNP, FNP-BC, CNP, received his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Florida in 2016. Prior to Nursing, he served as a social worker and worked in hospital administration.

Charles Whiting is a Board Certified in Family Nursing and Licensed in New Mexico as a Nurse Practitioner. He is passionate about helping patients prevent problems like high blood pressure or cholesterol that lead to larger, serious problems in the future. Chuck shares, "while managing chronic issues like diabetes or high blood pressures seems boring to some, it is my favorite part of medicine."

He grew up in south Florida and has been married for 30 years. Although he has lived in all four corners of the country, he is now happy to call Silver City his home and looks forward to seeing patients at HMS.
