
Hidalgo Medical Services Celebrates National Health Center Week

On Saturday, August 9th, Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) hosted its Third Annual HMS Celebrates Hidalgo County event. Over 300 local residents attended the event, celebrating the local healthcare system, National Community Health Center Week (August 3-9, 2025), and the residents of Hidalgo County.
Attendees had the opportunity to visit informational booths from a variety of healthcare and community organizations, including HMS’s Behavioral Health, Dental, Family Support, Human Resources, IT, Medical, Nursing and Operations divisions, as well as the following local partners, Ambercare, Amplified Therapy, Community Partnership for Children, Elks Lodge, Genoa Pharmacy, Head Start, Hidalgo County Fire Department, Hidalgo County Health Council/Substance Prevention Network, Las Cruces Recovery Center, Lordsburg Fire Department, Lordsburg Library, New Mexico Department of Health, NMSU STEM Office, Parents as Teachers, Recovery Management – Lordsburg, Silver Regional Sexual Assault Support Services, and the US Forest Service. As participants completed their passports by visiting each healthcare table, they were eligible to be entered into the drawings for free giveaways.

The event featured several fun activities such as waterslides, splash pads, face painting, music, and more, ensuring a great time for everyone involved. In addition to obtaining information about the local healthcare system, attendees enjoyed snow cones from local vendor, Chalia’s Snow Cones, and Iron Door BBQ & Grill, as the event food sponsor, served food for attendees.
