
Hidalgo Medical Services Is Awarded Two Separate Grants To Expand Behavioral Health Services And Increase Access To Care For Justice-Involved Populations

UPDATE: HMS is providing an update regarding the Federal Executive Order pausing federal funding. The Office of Management and Budget has rescinded OMB Memorandum M-25-13 effective today.
A Federal Executive Order was issued Monday, January 27th pausing federal funding. The Office of Management and Budget issued Memorandum 25-13, entitled "Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs." This memorandum requires Federal agencies to temporarily pause all activities related to the obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated by the executive orders [recently issued by the President], including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal.
As of 5:30 pm Tuesday, January 28, a federal judge temporarily blocked the funding pause until Monday afternoon, February 3rd.
HMS has not received any communication regarding Medicaid changes or cancellations and we are not aware of any.
HMS is aware and monitoring the impact this could have on our organization, and we will continue to communicate with the community and patients. HMS does not anticipate any immediate effect on staff or patient care. HMS services are not impacted and we continue to function as normal. All patients will be seen at your scheduled appointment time and we are open to care for our patients.
