Hidalgo Medical Services Makes Operational Changes due to COVID-19

Hidalgo Medical Services, in conjunction with multiple partners and sponsors including Aging and Long Term Services Department, Freeport McMoran, The Commons and the Director of Southwest Council, Priscilla Lucero, provided more than 900 seniors in Hidalgo and Grant Counties with food boxes. This would not have been possible without the help of the HMS Senior Centers, Family Support, and employees who, while following social distancing and safety rules, were able to implement the project so it could be successful.  “I believe what made the most impact during these last few weeks was the selfless acts of our employees and volunteers who put aside their time and Covid-19 concerns to make sure our seniors received food. We are so thankful for their support!!” said, Maribel Armendariz, Chief Support Officer.

Special appreciation is extended to the following individuals who assisted with this project:

Dr. Pedro Armendariz, Senior Services Director Cindy Anderson, Yvonne Gomez, Priscilla Lucero, Marisol Delgado, Rep. Rudy Martinez, Luis Terrazas, Tiffany Ortega, Commissioner, Billy Billings, Rep Gabe Ramos, Commissioner Alicia Edwards, Tiffany Nelson, Marsha Rippetoe, Ann McMillan, Carmen Reese, Rudy Bencomo, Francis Bencomo , Patsy Ramos,  Marsha Hill, Misty Jones, Irma Saenz, Gina Sanchez, Corina Rangel, Soledad Ruiz, Anthony J. Mora, Gina Sanchez, FSS Supervisor Donna Sandoval, Denise Perez, Felicia Pena, Cherry Lanchinebre and Angela Pobanz, and HMS CEO, Dan Otero.
